I decided to enjoy a relaxing New Year's Eve. For dinner, I had a delicious steak with a cold beer. I highly recommend watching the TV series "Ein Herz und eine Seele - Sylvesterpunsch" - it never gets old. I also watched the movie "Life of Brian," which is still hilariously funny and ahead of its time. Later, I spent some time in Orgrimmar, and it was a nice experience. After that, I enjoyed some beer and took on some Alliance enemies. Most of the time, I was listening to Children of Bodom. I spent New Year's Eve alone because I wasn't in the mood to celebrate. Instead, I took some time to reflect on my life in 2022.
I had some significant achievements, including working my way up in my company and getting my own project - a complete Golang backend. It wasn't easy, as I had to learn new soft skills like managing, planning, and communicating. But I worked hard and reached my goal.
Unfortunately, there was also some bad news at the end of the year. My longtime girlfriend and I had to go our separate ways after 14 years together. It's been tough on my soul, but I know it's for the best. We all face problems in life, and it's important to deal with them.
On a brighter note, I had a great experience doing my first home office in Spain. We chose Spain because flights were cheap, and the travel time was reasonable. After work, I'd head to the beach and soak up the sun. We'd also go out to restaurants and enjoy the local cuisine, which was a real quality of life upgrade. I highly recommend visiting during La Noche de San Juan on June 23-24. The whole town comes alive, with people making fires on the beach and giant foam statues getting burned down at the end of the day. It's a truly unforgettable experience.
After my breakup, I unexpectedly reconnected with my brother. I'm grateful that he took the initiative to reach out, as we've since gone to concerts and spent quality time together.
While my work life has been successful, my personal life has taken a hit. I realize that I need to hit the restart button on my personal life and reboot my spirits.
